Passing files to your friends is weirdly hard.
Despite how far we have come with storage, we’ve gotten a couple steps back on how to give files to someone in person.
Back when I was in middle school, I would give my friends movies and other stuff on CD’s and DVD’s because there was little to no friction about it. They’re so cheap and simple and you don’t have to any sort of forward planning of getting the flash drive back when they’re done copying the file to their computer, or have to upload it on your cloud storage and share a link so that they can stream or download it. With a disc, you give it to them and you’re done.
I understand that the practicality doesn’t make sense anymore, you don’t have dozens of a storage medium that hold one or two things, you have one or two big things of storage that you put everything in. And you don’t need to physically have the files you want around with you where ever you go, it’s all in an online cloud storage. Which isn’t to say that it’s bad, but it can makes thing a little harder to share to the ones you love.
